THE MASEAS BRAND

Minuteman | Empire Automation Systems is the singular force driving Minuteman Automation Systems and Empire Automation Systems. This brand is also referred to as MASEAS for short.


While both silos of MASEAS operate on their own from a legal standpoint, it was decided that a singular brand would be created which would reference both companies for several reasons. One such reason is that MAS and EAS share nearly identical supplier offerings. While regionally there are some differences, the vast majority are already available through both distributors and we are always working to further sync our product alignment. Additionally, while projects are funneled through our Automated Solutions Group, they stem from both MAS and EAS and always results in a collaboration of efforts. We have engineers at both locations who work together to bring your vision to reality.


Both companies have operated as premiere industrial automation distributors available to customers across the Northeastern United States for decades. Minuteman Automation Systems - once known as Minuteman Controls - has been serving the industry since 1970, and Empire Automation Systems - formerly Empire Air Systems - since 1990.

  1. Minuteman Controls Founded

    Minuteman Controls is founded by Herb Morton at it's current Wakefield address. Minuteman would start out as a catalog house, specializing in pneumatic components.

  2. Empire Air Systems Founded

    Empire Air Systems is founded by Dan Keilitz.

  3. Empire Air Relocates

    Empire Air Systems relocates its business to the current Vantage Point Drive address.

  4. Empire Air Ownership Transfer

    Don Davis gains joint ownership of Empire Air Systems with founder Dan Keilitz.

  5. Empire Air Name Change

    Empire Air Systems is renamed to Empire Automation Systems.

  6. Web Presence

    Empire Automation Systems gains web presence with first website.

  7. Transfer of Ownership

    Sole ownership of Empire Automation Systems transfers to Don Davis.

  8. Solutions Integration Group

    Empire Automation Systems develops the Solutions Integration Group as a new silo of business to help customers with small-scale projects such as panel builds and assemblies.

  9. Acquistion of Minuteman Controls

    Minuteman Controls is purchased by Don Davis, expanding into the New England territory.

  10. Facility Expansion

    The Empire Automation Systems facility sees it's first expansion at Vantage Point Drive, doubling it's square footage to allow for more offices and warehouse space.

  11. Minuteman Renaming & the MASEAS Brand

    2016 would be a big year for Empire Automation Systems and Minuteman Controls. First, Minuteman Controls would be renamed to Minuteman Automation Systems. This change would allow for more consistency between Empire and Minuteman, leading to a rebrand of the companies under one umbrella known simply as MASEAS (Minuteman | Empire Automation Systems).

  12. Solutions Integration Group Rebrand

    The service silo of MASEAS known as Solutions Integration Group would be rebranded to Automated Solutions Group.

  13. Facility Renovations

    The Empire Automation Systems building sees a second series of renovations in order to retool the existing space for both more offices and utilities.

  14. Virtual Experience

    Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, getting to meet customers and vendors in person became nearly impossible. In order to circumvent this obstacle, MASEAS invested in a "virtual experience." This consists of a multicamera setup in a dedicated space so that demos and training could be conducted remotely and provide the best experience for customers possible.

  15. Automated Solutions Group Evolves

    Where the Automated Solutions Group was once a service silo underneath Empire and Minuteman, it was now formed as its own legal entity - an official third branch of the MASEAS family.

OUR FACILITIES

Located within the Greater Rochester area of Gates in beautiful Upstate New York, the Empire Automation Systems home office has recently expanded in size. Originally 4,800 square feet, the space has more than doubled in size to roughly 10,000 square feet by utilizing adjacent office space.

 

In addition to allowing EAS to further grow its team, the expansion most notably increases the capabilities of the Automated Solutions Group. Thanks to an abundance of space the ASG can tackle more projects for business partners at larger scales than possible before, while also increasing the levels of stock items housed on site.

 

Currently, Minuteman Automation Systems resides in a fully converted 5,000 square foot historic schoolhouse in downtown Wakefield, MA. With two floors worth of offices housing a flourishing customer service team and a full level for warehouse storage MAS is always ready to tackle more to meet the needs of an ever growing base of business partners.
