Empire Automation Systems is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support our team. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing a high level of service to surpass internal and external customer expectations while working in a comprehensive team selling environment. The CSR serves as an inside sales point of contact for all products and divisions with the ability to handle many customer requirements in parallel with the outside sales team.

 

The ideal Customer Service Representative will be familiar with distribution sales within the industrial automation industry and will be always ready to learn about new company offerings as they are introduced into our distribution network. He or she will also be an outstanding team player and embrace the value of a dynamic, fully cooperating sales team. This is an on-site position and candidates should have reliable transportation and ability to commute to our office in Rochester, NY.

Job Qualifications


  • Previous experience in distribution sales is desired but will train the right candidate
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Organized, dependable, with focused attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Desire to help provide solutions to customer’s concerns
  • Passion to excel in all aspects of the of daily responsibilities

Job Responsibilities


  • Answer inbound customer calls
  • Research and process customer sales orders and quotations
  • Communicate with customers and vendors
  • Coordinate delivery of product between customers and vendors
  • Proactively track and update order status reports
  • Assist with inventory management and shipping
  • Act as an inside sales point of contact for outside sales team
